The writer Edmund Burke said, "All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." Hagar International aims to fight the human rights violations that occurs around the world every day. Arrya, Channa and Ratha are three girls who have suffered severe abuse and exploitation. Arrya was sold at thirteen. Channa was abused by her stepfather. Under the threat of poverty, nineteen year old Ratha was trafficked abroad to work without payment. Hagar helped them recover from their trauma by offering them care, education, and a chance to start a new life. Hagar's motto is "whatever it takes for as long as it takes to restore a broken life." Moment Watches is proud to partner with Hagar and is fully behind Hagar's stance to fight against all forms of abuse, violence, and exploitation. We are in line with Hagar's mission to restore survivors of extreme human rights abuse to life in all its fullness. This watch is an ingenious way to depict the ticking hand of "NO" against all these acts of human rights violation. Join us in fighting these crimes against humanity. Don't be good men who do nothing.
Hagar restores to wholeness the lives of women and children in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Vietnam that have been torn apart by human rights abuse. Walking the whole journey of protection, recovery, empowerment and integration with each individual is the whole reason for Hagar.
Established in Cambodia in 1994, Hagar launched programming in both Afghanistan and Vietnam in 2009. In 2004, the U.S. State Department named Hagar founder Pierre Tami as one of the its six international heroes in the struggle against the modern-day slave trade. Because we believe that broken lives can become whole again. Hagar’s name derives from the biblical story of Hagar in Genesis 16 and 21. Read the Hagar Biblical Story.
